AEIOU

AEIOU: Arabs Especially need Intercession based on Observation & Unity

Prayer: Arabs, Muslims

Below are some true accounts from various Arab homelands:

HOPE: God is moving in miraculous ways! A national Arab here received a Bible 20 years ago from a non-national believer inside the country. Recently, they met by chance for the first time since then. The man apologized for not treating the Bible with respect. He said, "I know it's a holy book, so I should take care of the pages, but I keep reading it and I've lent it to around 100 of my friends, so it now looks like an ancient manuscript. Some of the pages are falling out and in places the ink is so faded I can't read it. I'm sorry I've treated it so badly!" He also said that he was always sure to get it back, as he wanted to keep reading. He said that he wants to meet with the believer privately to tell the believer what the book means to him! Please pray for this man, as well as the others who have been exposed to the Word in the country we love.

PRAISE & PRAYER: We didn't hear from Mohammed for months, and we wondered what had happened to him. Then a friend phoned to say a short-term team had met him. One team member said that they would ask God to give him a dream. That night, his late father (a Muslim) came to Mohammed in a dream and told him to follow Jesus! The next day, Mohammed gave his life to the Lord!!

A few days later, Mohammed's brother found him reading his Bible and demanded to know what was happening. He said that if Mohammed had become a Christian, he would no longer consider him his brother. He then summoned Mohammed to a family meeting to discuss the situation.

This is a tough thing for a new believer to face in a Muslim country like this, especially one who has only known Jesus for a week. Mohammed seemed calm when I spoke to him on the phone, and solid in his decision, although he was obviously concerned about would happen as he faced his family. I'm happy to say that he finally phoned me a week after his family meeting to say that it had gone well, and that his family is "beginning to understand what has happened to me". Now I'm waiting for him to call me so that we can begin ongoing discipleship. Ask people to pray for his growth in Christ. Please join with us in praying for his safety, that the Holy Spirit will give him wisdom in what to say and the courage to say it, and that this experience will strengthen his new-found faith. Pray God will prepare Mohammed's family members and his friends to receive the Truth.”

Please also continue to pray for those believers in Muslim lands under trial and for the tens of millions of Muslims who will stand before God on Judgment Day.

PRAISE: God for the miracle survival of a premature baby of a believing family. Even hospital doctors said it was a miracle. Upon discharge, the family toured the hospital with baby so that the staff could see the miracle baby about whom they had all heard.

PRAY: for healing for another pregnant believing woman’s seven-year-old son who has been hospitalized with pneumonia for two weeks. Pray the believing mom would receive encouragement directly from the Lord, be strengthened in her faith, and that she will be a light to her whole family.

One Christian Worker from Morocco, perhaps describing the typical situations of many in the Arab world:
TESTIMONY: I have often felt God's touch in recent weeks despite circumstances that continue to be rather discouraging. Without a doubt, the presence of God is an uplifting influence on my thoughts and I want to thank you so much for your prayers that play a part in that. Please be persistent in prayer for us here. It is so crucial that you continue to lift us up in prayer. Discouragement is going around like a virus among missionaries as we look at what we have achieved and it doesn't look like much. So many feel their efforts to reach Muslims have been a failure and are deeply discouraged. I can't count the number of discouraging experiences people we know face in their lives. What can you do? Stand with us in prayer! We need you! Through you the Lord will refresh the hearts of the saints. What can we do? Stand firm, pray, encourage one another to faith and good works, and persist in meeting with one another. Please ask God to minister to the discouraged.

=====
There remains a strong need for a massive move that will stretch all the way accross the Arab World. Please email Praying Through the Arabian Peninsula: ptap@srginc.org -- if you are interested in joining in prayer for Arabs.

May the Lord Jesus bless you!
Mert

Will you join me in praying that many more Arabs will turn to Christ?
That information about how to pray for Arabs will be freely disseminated?
That those who are called to pray for Arabs, to bless radicals, to love Muslims wherever they might be, would be strengthened daily to carry out their work in spirit & in truth.
