Funnest, Cheapest, yet Most Costly Ride

DISNEYLAND'S MOST FUN RIDE, BUT THE LEAST EXPENSIVE, YET THE MOST EXPENSIVE RIDE

While I was at the convention of the National Religious Broadcasters in Anaheim, CA, I was near Disneyland which is advertised as "The Happiest Place On Earth." But, many times I saw extremely happy and contented children on rides which were the LEAST EXPENSIVE rides on earth and they were NOT even in Disneyland! Children were riding in strollers pushed along by Mom or Dad. The children knew they the parents loved them and that the parents were caring for them and watching over them and helping them to explore the big new world. Occasionally, a father could be seen carrying a child on his shoulders, up behind his head.

All of these were the least expensive rides in the world and yet the most wonderful for the children with their parents. But, yet they are the most expensive rides in the world. The parent has to determine to pay the lifetime cost of investing in the life, upbringing and guidance of that child. There are great financial, emotional and energy expenses in doing that. This all reminded me of yet another least expensive and yet most expensive ride. Actually, it is the most significant ride in the Universe. Jesus is the Good Shepherd who picks up the lost sinner, as a shepherd would pick up the one lost sheep and put it up on his shoulder and bring it back into the fold. That is inexpensive from the human view, but it is the most expensive ride from the view of God. It required the sacrifice of the earthly life of Jesus. His sacrifice was proven sufficient and acceptable by His Resurrection. Perhaps these observations will be useful in helping us explain things to friends.
