Tajikistan
We received an encouraging email this week from someone who has been praying for Tajikistan and received the following vision:
"When I was in Tajikistan last year the Father showed me a picture of how the good and the evil there were arm wrestling. In this picture the evil had almost won over the good, but then the situation turned around and finally the good won.. It is through things like this initiative, Hope Tajikistan that the turning will come."
Let's receive that as an extra encouragement to pray these next two weeks for this dark land where light is beginning to break through! Believe in faith and exercise your faith to pray specifically that that battle will be won by God's good!
Ok, here's the latest prayer requests:
1. Pray for the local church's worship teams and leaders; that they will get organized and really lead people to the throne. Pray that their lives will be continually reformed to look like Christ, and that after leading others they will not be disqualified by pride or immorality.
2. Pray for foreigners working there to have favor and good contacts with those in power there. Pray that they will have patience in the midst of many trials, and that they will truly count every trouble as an opportunity to rejoice because they are filling up the fullness of Christ's suffering here on earth.
3. R needs local housing for her and her daughter if she is to remain in her home town. Pray that her life and God's provision for her will be a witness to others.
4. Pray for God to raise up many teams to come and pray in Tajikistan. Pray that those who feel called to do so will find teams to go with them. Pray that all the logistics and travel arrangements will be made. Pray that their trips will be powerfully spirit-led and much fruit will be had in the spiritual realm. Pray that God will give them specific things to do and specific places to visit as they criss-cross the country from Spring to Fall this year. Pray that God will provide for all their financial and visa needs.
5. Pray for the President and the political leaders of Tajikistan. They need much wisdom in this time just after the recent parliamentary elections. Please read the following excerpt from a recent article and pray diligently for peace in this country as well as wisdom, respect for opposition parties, and a calming of fears through the peace that comes from Christ. Pray for the regular people to have much wisdom, self-control, and humility.
"Political analysts in Dushanbe say popular frustration is running high, fueled by Tajikistan’s poor socio-economic conditions and widespread corruption. At the same time, the overwhelming majority of the population is anxious to avoid another bout of upheaval. Both sides now appear to be taking time to ponder their next step, knowing that a misstep could lead to a resumption of a conflict that virtually no one wants. Posted March 3, 2005 © Eurasianet

6. Lastly, pray for the local believers in Tajikistan to be given a spirit of courage, boldness, and a willingness to sacrifice everything for the cause of Christ!
Thanks so much for praying with us! We thank God in advance for the answers to your prayers.
