Tajikistan
"The Heavens tell of the glory of God. The skies display his marvelous craftsmanship." - Psalm 19:1
This February, I am amazed at the difference in the weather in different parts of the world. Everyone tends to think the whole world is cold in February, maybe rainy and snowy. But as we look at our world weather watch on the web, we see that is not the case. I am amazed at the rich diversity and imagination of our Creator. Right now in sunny Southern California, people can walk around with shorts and t-shirts outside if they want, but in Tajikistan today, it is snowing. And if that is not enough to wow you, then think about Sydney, Australia where they are in the middle of summer right now. Surelly the skies do display his marvelous craftsmanship. Take a few moments to recapture of healthy view of Bigness of God.
Now let's exercise our faith together for the following requests:
1. Please remember Z. as she struggles within herself over who J is and what following him might cost. Ask that also her family (youngest of ten) may have ears to hear.
2. Please ask about the possibility of running a training for locals and expats in May that would teach them to go out sharing stories - a powerful witness in an oral culture.
3. Praise God for more reports of visas and safe travel for those working on the ground in Tajikistan.
4. Pray for those discouraged by the processes of bureacracy in Tajikistan to be bold, rejoice in trials, and to use seeming challenges as opportunities to share the Good News to those they come in contact with. Even those with whom they are the most frustrated.
5. M continues to seek for the truth, but as so many here, struggles greatly with the spirit of fear. Pray that she is able to overcome this, and be honest with her mother for her desire to learn more of what she is seeking so that we can study the Word together.
6. Praise God with us for N and her husband. He has stopped seeing his “second wife” and is at home much more now. We have seen an increased interest and receptiveness to Truth in him, and believe God is really working in his heart. Please pray for his wife, who is a believer, to be able to love him unconditionally and respect him as she should. It is our prayer that her husband will be won by her example.
7. Please remember to faithfully pray for the national church here. Pray for so many who, because of fear are not sharing the Truth with their families and neighbors. Many have not even told those in their family they live with of their decisions. Please pray for the Spirit of fear to be removed from their lives. Pray for them to understand the fear of the Lord, and to honor that above their fear of their families and neighbors. Pray for them to truly understand that by their disobedience to share the truth that they possess they are condemning their neighbors and families to an eternity without Him. Pray for G to do WHATEVER it takes to see his kingdom come here, and grow mightily.
8. Pray for those who are being obedient to share and be witnesses for Christ. Pray for God to bless their faithfulness to share the Gospel. Pray for His protection as they share, and for them to see the results of their faithfulness.
9. Pray for the foreigners who are here. Pray that we love and respect one another. Pray that there is unity among them. Pray that they will love each other with a perfect love, that draws those around us to Him. Pray for the singles to not be lonely, but find completeness in Christ. Pray for children and marriages of those working in Tajikistan!
10. Pray for every hindering spirit that keeps the Tajiks, Uzbeks, and Pamir peoples of Tajikistan in bondage to sin to be broken and broken today. Let's pray with faith and bind the devil in the lives of these precious people!
Thanks again for your prayers! The Bible says that we should always be diligent in our prayers for all the saints everywhere. Let's follow that Ephesians 6 passage and pray in the power of the Holy Spirit for these things.
