PTAP: Prayer Request Received

1. Pray for a 13 year old girl here named Mehwish Karamat.
Pray that the Lord Jesus Christ will fill her with His Holy spirit.
Pray that her relationship with Christ will get stronger and stronger. Since she is one of the best students of our school, pray that she will be able to stay with the school for the next session.
Pray that her parents will choose the best thing for her future and that they also know Christ as Savior and pray that they will take the right decision for her life.
Pray for her father Karamat Masih that he will get blessed. Pray also for her mother Ghazala K.
Most of all, pray that every demonic power will be released which disturbs Mehwish's mind. If the powers are from her forefathers, Christ is able to set her free & bind these spirits.

2. Pray for NEW BRIGHT WAY SCHOOL and all the staff members as it working for the betterment of the Christian community. Pray that every obstacle in the registration case of NEW BRIGHT WAY SCHOOL will be removed quickly.

Sincerely,

English Bibles Internet resource

There is now a new Internet resource to facilitate the kind of feedback which I was inviting in the first message in this topic thread (below). It is at URL: http://englishbibles.blogspot.com/ . I invite you to make good use of this new resource. Feel free to tell others of the new resource. It is intended to be a positive contribution in the effort to improve English Bible versions. BTW, the system which hosts the Bible Translation discussion list is down for today, Saturday, April 2.

===== First message =====
In these days and times overwhelmingly have there been many different and varied English Bible versions. Think not that all of them are of the same essence. Rather, rejoice for they are not. Yet, even in the differences, there remain a similarity of difficulties. In speaking about this matter, let us take cognizance of its high importance. Let him that reads, read. And he that does not read, let him listen. It is the word of this message that an abundance of English translations of the Bible have wordings which enter not into the heart of man nor come unto his ears. In truth, such wordings are not even part of English, other than for having the individual words. I write these things unto you particularly at this time for I have sought at length to locate them and tell their translators about them. My heart carries a load because of my search. Do you have this same load in your heart also?

It is in my consideration to produce a categorization of kinds and types of non-English found in English Bibles. If it is in your heart also, I would be greatly in appreciation if you would open your mouth and say what some of these kinds and types are which you have come upon in reading.

Thank you,
Wayne Leman

Religious Extremism

Ironic Ad:

As I was looking at an old copy of the free ISNA mag I had gotten when I worked in a library: I noticed this promo in an ad for Al-Basheer

"COMING SOON!
RELIGIOUS EXTREMISM"

A couple lines down, it reads, "We Offer a 35% Discount to Inmates!"

A short visit to the site: www.al-basheer.com - revealed this book is indeed now available:
"Religious Extremism [English] Format: Hard. Weight: 4.0 lbs.
Reward points: Purchasing this will earn you 14000 rewards points! This book discusses the definition of Extremism and its parameters from a Shareeah perspective, the place and importance of the hijrah, the ruling for the hijrah under different circumstances, the definition of taqleed and the limits of its acceptability. It also goes into great depth on the concept of the Jamaah and the question of making an oath of allegiance to a group's leader, the ruling of taking a governmental post under a tyrant Muslim ruler and the Shariah conditions and parameters for declaring another Muslim a disbeliever."

=====
May the Lord save inmates & keep them from that the extremes if Islamic law.

That sort of book does indeed sound very hard!! How many points then are required to meet God's standards?

Oh, that we might all come to know God's glory & not merely the zeal of man!! What zeal, what ardor! But O, what lack of knowledge!!

What a sad state man's logic will come to, apart from the word of the Lord. Jesus Christ, Isa Al-Masih, please turn the hearts of those at the edges to yourself!!
