Bible Illustrations: Sin & Defeating Satan

I had a good conversation with a fellow about darts once. Then I related what he had learned to what sin is & how to avoid it.

Sin = "a-martia" = not on the mark / missing the target.
Consistency is essential to hitting the target.
Consistency is required in these areas for the dart player:
The darts thrown.
The target you aim at.
The distance.
The use of the darts.
The best dart games are also played in teams.
"Practice makes perfect," they say.

Parable about Defeating Satan:
"Soon the God of Peace will trample satan underfoot."
The over-abundance of roaches in these parts make a very apt illustration about defeating satan.

Best communicated in an outdours, personal demonstration rather than an elaborate description of stomping on roaches.
Best way to accomplish the stomping:
With shoes.
As a group.
With joy: ie. don't think too much about the origin, the influence, or the dangers of the roach, but about the glory of the Lord who is giving you the good sense to get rid of those nasty critters.
In the light. Get em on the run!

[There is no need to introduce roaches simply to make a point.]

Wycliffe is not the only one who must translate the Word.
