AEIOU: Arise Shine Morocco! #65

NATIONWIDE: Response to the "cartoons about Mohammed" incident has thankfully not been as bad in Morocco as in other nations but possible repercussions are still a cause for concern. Pray!!

===
From various regions:
Pray for a new believer who will lend his voice for a test taping of the recently translated book of Romans. Thank the Lord for him and for his uncle who are both growing in their faith. Pray for wisdom for expatriates and believers as they make plans for further translation.

Continue to pray for provision of funds needed to secure a building to house various ministry activities and as a gathering place for believers.

Pray for work towards establishing a legally recognized religious group in a Spanish enclave. Pray Muslim-background believers will be encouraged and that the paperwork would pass through all the right channels.

Praise the Lord for an apparent open door here for development projects. The need now is for wisdom and direction for what exactly workers will do as a project, where, and when. Keep praying for two projects in process and aimed at meeting the needs of some of the most vulnerable of Moroccans. Each project needs funding and many details to come together.

Praise the Lord for a new family now settling in at a new location. Pray for workers and their children: for spiritual discernment and strong faith in the face of various influences. Pray for good friends for each one. Pray for mothers and for babies due in coming months.

Pray for efforts to start a new business with a goal to employ nationals and help with economic development in the region. There are many hurdles to overcome in starting a business here.

Pray an upcoming partnership meeting will stimulate participants to love and good deeds directed toward Berbers. Pray for a scheduled orientation meeting about Berbers for a group of new workers. Pray for a short-term team that will be traveling in the south of the region for two weeks. Pray they will have opportunities to sow and that new workers and prayer partners will result from this trip. Other potential new workers will visit the region soon. Pray the Lord will guide them.

Praise God for a new team of workers who have a desire to live, work and see change in this key region. Pray for protection over them as they take a step of faith in this new venture.

Pray members of a handicrafts project for at-risk people will find buyers for their products.

Praise God for answers to prayer in a difficult situation. A potentially explosive situation diffused in an amazing way, leading to opportunities to share with a family grieving over the death of a young child.

Praise God for a recent visit of a brother from another North African nation who was able to minister in a powerful way to local believers here. There were many breakthroughs in people's lives. Pray for ongoing growth and maturity in the local believers.

Praise God for a family that recently came to know the Lord. Pray they will be able to spur each other on in their faith. Pray the Lord will set them free from bondages. One has a heart for evangelism so pray that God will bless and anoint that urge and make her bold with discernment.

Praise God for a new monthly prayer gathering. Pray God's agenda for prayer will prevail. Pray workers and national believers will have the eyes of their hearts opened to see the spiritual reality around them. Pray they will be open to hear things from God that are new or that are not easy or pleasant to hear. Pray they will not allow Satan to keep them from all that God has for them.

Pray for a worker family struggling to get residency visas processed. The long delays have felt like an enemy tactic to discourage and frustrate this family. Ask for God's breakthrough!

Praise God for increased prayer in this city. Pray He would give increasing measures of this spirit of prayer and supplication all across the nation. Ask God to visit his people transforming them into worshipping evangelists, as at Pentecost.

Please pray for a worker in need of wisdom regarding on which responsibilities to focus and which ones to lay aside.

Lighthouse Church:
Pray that a sister who has been with the church for a year will decide to be baptized. Ask the Lord to use brother M among his family and friends. Pray for another brother to make the decision to be baptized and for his wife to come to faith. Pray a member will obtain a fixed salary.

Pray church members will be vigilant with new disciples. Ask the Lord to open a door for ministry into a region near this city. Pray for a village nearby where church meetings will begin this month.

Pray for a couple dealing with discouragement. A brother with whom they have met for years was influenced by religious Muslims and has wandered away from the faith. Pray that "B" will come to his senses and return to the Way.

Pray for healing and deliverance for sick or afflicted local believers. One leading couple has endured weakening illnesses. A sister with heart problems has gone on a strict diet. A brother has a family member affected by spirits. Finally, a teenage girl from a believing family is in the hospital with a serious condition.

Pray encouragement for the believers of “A” group that are discouraged by others moving away and by unemployment. Uphold local believer leaders. Pray they will have love, spiritual power, and wisdom in caring for their flocks.

Pray protection, anointing, guidance, spiritual power, love, and wisdom for recent and new believers. "G", a family man, is a vendor in the marketplace and has many friends with whom he shares. "P" who works in Europe has come to faith and visits his family here from time to time. Pray for his whole extended family to come to faith and to reach out.

Pray for worker families suffering from allergies and related illnesses. Pray for the Lord’s guidance for a senior worker couple as they consider a possible change of ministry location.

Requests from workers among Moroccans in Europe:
Pray a ministry doing correspondence courses will have more people to do follow-up in Morocco.

Pray for Moroccan believers in Europe that meet together but see no need to form a church. If it is God's will for them to form a church, pray that He would put this desire in their hearts.

Pray for provision of a computer for a Moroccan missionary.

Pray for a couple that has come to work with Moroccans in Spain. Pray they will have clear direction from God for their ministry and that they would soon make good contact with Moroccans.

From workers in Paris: "We truly covet your fervent prayers for the Moroccan Souss Berber community. A great evangelist who is himself a Souss Berber will join us for two weeks. Pray that a fellowship of believers among the Souss people will result."

MISSION TRAINING - Kids curriculum from Caleb Project

Caleb Project's newest curriculum, "Outside the Lines: Connecting Kids to God's Global Purpose" is being tested at 14 locations around the U.S. and should be released early this summer. The 13 three-hour lessons, based on the Perspectives on the World Christian Movement course, cover biblical, historic, and cultural themes written at different levels for children from kindergarten to eighth grade. Outside the Lines includes Bible lessons, prayer activities, crafts, skits, games, and simulations, all in printable PDF form, and two DVDs of videos, songs, slide-show presentations, and animation clips. Outside the Lines is a great way to help kids discover they don't have to wait to grow up before they can make an important contribution.

Riches of Grace Await

"The rain & snow come down from heaven, and do not return there, but water the earth, making it bring forth and bud, that to give seed to the sower and bread to the eater. Likewise, shall My word be that goes forth from My mouth: it shall not return to Me void, but it shall accomplish what I please, and it shall prosper in My intended purpose." - Isaiah 55:10-11

PRAISE:
The expatriate MBB who was being held against her wishes by her parents is now back in our country and is employed! It took her over a year to find a job that is suitable to her qualifications. Pray that the new job will be the best one for her to grow in her major field of study but also in her walk and dependency on God.

PETITION:
Pray for prayer teams who are visiting the country this month and next month. Pray for God to use them - to guide them in their prayers and intercessions. Pray that they would be used by God in the heavenly realms - to bring a freedom from the darkness which binds people. Pray also for safety in travel around the country. Pray that they would sense God's vision and heart for this country.

For almost half a century, the gospel in written form has found its way into the hands and homes of unknown numbers of people in Yemen. Some have been devoured, inspiring the readers (and listeners) to hunger for more and varied types of teaching. Others have been accepted politely and put on a shelf, in a box, or under a bed. Pray that these "hidden" Scripture portions that are sitting in homes of unbelievers (and even believers who may have been frightened into hiding their books) will be found, picked up, read, and by the power of the Spirit, understood. Let's claim the promise of Isaiah 55:11 in prayer for the people in Yemen who already have access to His Word.

An Indian pastor who has been under severe persecution continues to try to leave the country. There have been many hold-ups on his and his family's paperwork. Pray that God would remove all obstacles for this brother to be able to leave the country. Pray also for refreshment and restoration for the family. They are weak and weary after almost 2 months of persecution, arrests, kidnapping, beatings, robbery, phone threats, living away from their house with friends, and emotional abuse. Pray that God would refresh and bless this family for His glory.

Pray for the Iranian brother who just ended his employment due to poor treatment, lack of payment and a less-that-desirable working atmosphere. He is discouraged, in financial straights because his Christian boss didn’t pay him and the laughing-stock of his Muslim family. He is a disgrace in their eyes. Pray that the One who had no shame but took our shame on him will comfort this dear brother’s soul.

TESTIMONY:
Mary (not her real name) is at a crossroads. She has already shown the potential to be a leader among believing women - God is truly using her. But she is also seemingly trapped in poverty, with little chance of breaking out of it under normal cultural means. Due to this pressure of providing for her widowed father and younger family members, she tends toward depending on others to provide for their physical needs rather than trusting God first to meet them. Dependency on man rather than God could cripple her potential. Trusting God fully could light a fire of church-planting that has already sparked. Pray that this spark would be fanned into an amazing flame that could not be quenched, through complete trust in God by Mary and those she disciples.
