"The Lord will swallow up the veil that covers all the peoples."
- Isaiah 25:7
PRAISE:
A tentmaker has recently completed some training sessions with several National Muslims – both men and women - in 2 conservative countries in the Arabian Peninsula as part of his work. During these sessions he was able to share many life skills that helped the participants in their work and family relationships. He has been asked to do more training and to share why he is different from other Western people they know. Many seem to be interested in the Christian message.
PETITION:
Pray that those excluded from families because of following Jesus will find nourishing relationships with Christian believers in their country.
Pray for God to raise up more local believers. Ask God to network believers with those who are able and willing to disciple them. Pray that God would knit together the growing number of MBBs so that they can have fellowship and support.
Pray for the expatriate Muslim man who just recently was baptized in our country. He has since returned to his home country and is suffering persecution from his family and the local authorities. He is holding fast to his new faith and covets the prayers of the PTAP network.
Pray for an effective visit of the Doulos in Abu Dhabi and Sharjah in the United Arab Emirates from January 21 through February 19. Over 30,000 people are expected to visit the ship to purchase Christian books, attend training sessions and to meet young Christian men & women from across the world.
A few weeks back, we asked for prayer on behalf of a mid-twenty year old MBB man who is being kept in his home by his parents. Nobody in his network of Christian friends has heard from this man since he left the country. He is in a neighboring country without any fellowship, no Bible, no Christian books or tapes or anything. Pray that he would cling to Jesus during this time of extreme difficulty.
TESTIMONY:
“Mark” is an expatriate Muslim student attending one of the prestigious universities in our country. He is a serious young man. He does well in his courses and hopes to get a good position when he graduates. “M” is also very keen on world events and politics – particularly about his homeland where there has been turmoil for over 50 years.
He met a tentmaker about 3 years ago. The two of them hit it off great – they both were avid readers of current events and politics. The tentmaker enjoyed his relationship with Mark, but always tried to bring the conversations around to Jesus and His holy word. Definitely some seeds were sown.
The tentmaker has left the country due to situations beyond his control. He passed on his friendship with Mark to another tentmaker. For the past several months Mark has been meeting with the new tentmaker and one or two of his friends. They have had lots of political conversations and some spiritual conversations. In the past few weeks, the tide has changed such that Mark no longer wants to discuss politics but to talk about Jesus and the Bible and his life. He is reading the Bible on his own outside of their times together. He has attended church. He is wanting more and more of Jesus. We are so excited with God’s work in Mark’s life. We are so looking forward to his entrance into the Kingdom of God. Please join us in praying for him!
