Small Beginnings & a Promise

"Abraham believed God, & He creditted it to him as righteousness." - Genesis 15:6

PRAISE:
Praise the Lord for the successful cancer surgery for the mom of a tentmaker in our country.

PETITION:
Pray for the Arab Muslims from the Arabian Peninsula on holiday in Malaysia. Pray that they would have a divine appointment with one of the Arab evangelism teams in the city’s parks and recreation areas.

Pray for the opportunity a MBB+ has to travel to another Islamic country to minister with Muslim seekers. Pray for his visas to travel into the guest country and a return visa to his current service country.

Pray for the health of a tentmaker that left the field due to an ongoing battle with cancer. Pray that he would be able to endure the pain of his deteriorating condition.

Pray for the tentmakers taking special Arabic courses during the summer months so that they may be more effective in their contact evangelism and discipleship activities in the autumn.

Pray for the MBB that is struggling with her faith. She has been systematically enticed by her Muslim family to go back to Islam and a share of the family wealth. Pray that she would not let go of the only true Savior she will ever know.

TESTIMONY:
Ibrahim is a business executive in his country. He is fairly successful with his government job and does well with his private business that he runs with his family. He is middle aged, with at least one wife and several children in their 20’s and late teens. Over a year ago, he began a friendship with a foreign medical professional. They met for coffee every once in a while, talked about all aspects of life which of course included their faith in God. Ibrahim began to wrestle with his Islamic faith in light of the discussions with his Christian friend. After several months of discussions and mostly watching his Christian friend’s work, social and family life – he expressed his desire to follow Jesus. Together the two men studied the Bible, prayed together, grappled with application issues that affected his new life in Christ. Amazingly, shortly after Ibrahim was firmly rooted in his new faith, his Christian friend left his country. Instead of being alone however, God brought another Christian into his life – who “happened” to know his first Christian friend.

Today, Ibrahim is still growing in his faith, however, he is not meeting with the very few other Christians from his own country. He meets one-on-one with a few expatriate Christian men for discipleship and Bible study. Pray that others from his people group would come to faith and become the core of the first National church in this country.

Lit with Love, Live in the Light

"Love one another deeply, from the heart." - 1 Peter 1:22; 4:8

PRAISE:
Praise God for another new Arab believer. This believer desires to share Christ with her family. Pray that God will draw her family close to Him and prepare their hearts for what she will share.

PETITION:
"Salman" hopes to move into his new house soon! This finally means freedom for him and his sons to pursue their faith in Jesus - Isa al Messih - together as a family. His older son "Ammar" mentioned to me last month that he was - confused about whether Christianity or Islam is the right way." Who wouldn’t be confused in his situation – family split over major faith issues? Please pray for Salman as he models and teaches his boys about loving God through Isa al Messih.

Could you also pray for the local believers here. There is a lack of passion and desire to study the word. May they get the passion that comes from Him.

Pray for all the ministries in our embattled church here in our capital city. Pray for God's protection on the youth, for those on the fringes or making enquiries (such as those doing Alpha courses), for the young believers, as well as those more mature believers who are involved in the conflict.

Pray for a local man named Mohammed who recently received a “Skinny Luke-a thin booklet with the Gospel of Luke. Pray that he will read God’s Word and that He will change his heart so he could receive the Truth of Jesus Christ.

Praise God for the recent marriage of a fellow worker. The PTAP world-wide network has periodically prayed for this brother whose wife died tragically at a young age. Pray that God would richly bless this new marriage. Pray that God would knit the family together as the new bride becomes the instant mother of 3 young children (ages 7, 5, 2).

TESTIMONY:
"Sally" is a young mother of two very active, unruly children. She does not know how to handler her children. Her culture tells her it is OK for them to be undisciplined, they will get better over time. Her husband is very aloof when they are together as a family and rarely interacts with the children. He is very busy with work and spends a lot of time learning new programming languages for work while at home in the evening.

"Sally" has two lady friends that she really likes and respects. They are both Christians. One is an Eastern woman like herself and the other is a middle-aged Western woman. Both of them are calm, godly women. The middle-aged woman has a handful of children spanning 12 years. "Sally" really likes the way the older woman's children play, interact with their siblings and with other children. In response to her requests, the two ladies meet weekly to go over some Christian parenting resources. "Sally" is very encouraged by this and wants to know more about what Christianity has to say about raising children, about the husband-wife relationship and about sane living. Pray that through the discussions the Christian women have with "Sally" that she would hear the Good News of Jesus and understand God’s desire for her.

AEIOU: Internet Searching

Often Throughout the Arab World, people search the internet and come across sites leading them to a greater knowledge of the Truth. These sites are increasingly popular and access is relatively unhindered. Computers remain expensive so the majority of people use internet cafes to surf the web, these are available on every street even in the smallest towns.

Pray for those running these sites to have wisdom as they seek to
communicate with an unseen audience, to know how to meet their
needs and to be encouraged as they work without the encouragement
of face to face contact with their audience.
