WIN News - ME, PTAP, HA, SEAsia, Tajikistan

Israel- Pray that formal relationships between the government and traditional Christian Churches would improve, enabling both to function more effectively.

Tajikistan- Heavenly Father, we give you thanks that a controversial bill to limit religious freedom in Tajikistan has been delayed in being discussed. We pray that any efforts to introduce it or similar pieces of restrictive legislation would falter.

Djibouti - Heavenly Father, we give thanks that religious freedom is enshrined in the constitution of this country. We pray for an end to the increase in animosity towards non-Muslims and also for the continuation of good relations between the different faith groups.

Yemen – Pray that church buildings would be permitted across the country as promised in 2001.

Bahrain – Pray for an end to the violence between the country’s peoples over political and religious differences. Pray for a spirit of peace and unity to rest on the nation.

Brunei – LORD God, we remember the Christians living in Brunei under its Islamic regime. We pray for change in this country’s policies, that there would be greater freedoms provided to people living there and particularly that Christians would not see their rights to worship eroded.

Lebanon - Pray for renewed hope and restored joy across the Christian community following the assassinations last year of several Christians active in public life, and pray for comfort for grieving family and friends.

Qatar - Pray for strength, wisdom, endurance, protection, and boldness for Qatar’s pastors.

Ethiopia - Pray for justice and freedom for our Christian brothers and sisters who are unjustly imprisoned without formal charges or a trial and who suffer harassment for no reason.

HT: Hope Tajikistan

1. Thank God for all those intercessors like you who have been stirred to pray over the last year and a half for the people of Tajikistan. This has been a great blessing to our Hope Tajikistan team, but even more so for the believers in Tajikistan. Your prayers have been lifting the weight of spiritual oppression for them.

2. Please don't stop praying for Tajikistan just because these updates stop. Keep the prayer guide close at hand, close to the heart, and never cease praying for this country. It is our deepest desire to see it lit up with God's flame of spiritual awakening and revival. Let's envision that together as we move forward and pray until it happens.

3. Keep praying for the 2006 wall calendar project. We plan to get those out as soon as we can. They are published and we are just waiting for them to be shipped to the people who will distribute them. They will probably go out the first or second week of January, God-willing. Blessings on those of you who have had to wait for them. They will be worth the wait, though!!!

4. For further real life info on Tajikistan and what is happening in the news there, one suggestion is to sign up for Google alerts on news.google.com and put in the search word Tajik. Then once a week, you can get the latest news on what is going on in the country from a news perspective. Thanks for your faithfulness to pray! You are such a blessing.

5. Pray that as this year of prayer for Tajikistan ends that the vision and life of the prayer movement for Tajikistan will not only continue, but flourish. Pray that new leaders will be raised up to continue this legacy, and follow up what has been accomplished this year. May the Spirit of God take charge and grow what He has begun! If you do feel called to help continue the movement in some specific way, please email us at HT@hopetajikistan.com

It has been a great honor to pray with you this year!
Christ's richest blessings to you all!

Updated Praye Requests for November 20, 2005 -

1. In the news in Central Asia, Tajiks, Kazakhs, and other peoples are joining together on folklore concerts, telling stories to the masses willing to pay to listen - promoting peace by the commonalities related through stories. Please pray that the Good News will also be able to use this very popular media in this land of story-lovers. May the stories of Truth be so compelling to the people of Tajikistan that they will not only listen to them, but repeat them over and over again to everyone they know!

2. Life in Central Asia is not always peaceful. People here often live in fear. New believers often have more to be afraid of than others since they are often persecuted for their faith by friends, family, and co-workers. Lift up these faithful ones that the Spirit of God would overshadow them and be their shield, protection, boldness, and new energy every day. That they would not fear, but have the peace of God on them! Pray also that their supernatural peace would be appealing to others.

3. Pray for all those in Tajikistan who are persecuted by the government for their faith. In general there seems to be a growing trend in the government to limit religious expression. Ask that those being discriminated against would seek a closer relationship with God and that in the end Truth would win out. Ask for wisdom as well for government leaders in Tajikistan who seek the best for their country and their people. May God give them Wisdom from heaven to make decisions that will truly serve all peoples there.

4. Drug Use and Trafficking - Much of the heroin harvested in Afghanistan is transported through Tajikistan on its way to Russia. This can create pockets along the way of drug-addicted Tajiks, and money hungry drug smugglers. Ask God to remove this element from Tajik society by changing lives and hearts. Show them the emptiness of this kind of life. May they find fulfillment in Jesus!

Thanks again for praying! May your prayers be heard and answered quickly!!!

HT: Hope Tajikistan - Progress

Prayer Requests and Praises for November 9, 2005

1. Praise God for all the prayers that were lifted up over the last month and a half. During Ramadan, the whole Christian world was praying for Muslims around the world. And many chose during the month of October to take one week and fast specifically for the country of Tajikistan. To those who did, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. May you find your treasure in heaven!

2. Pray for seeds of good news sown in some remote areas recently to grow and bear fruit. Ask that God would open many hearts the the Truth through these seeds. Ask that God would also protect those doing the sowing and mature them as they seek Him in all their endeavors.

3. Pray that those working in Tajikistan would not be drug down by depression, discouragement, or despair; but would rather enter a fresh new season of Knowing God and Enjoying Him, being satisfied in God and enjoying His Presence. May this new wind be so appealing to others that they want it for themselves!

4. Praise God with us for nearly 250 pre-orders so far for the calendar. The final version has been sent to the printers and we will have them soon. Again if you want to get some, please don't hesitate to email HT@hopetajikistan.com. In regards to the already-printed Hope Tajikistan prayer guides, please order those by emailing PrayerGuides@hopetajikistan.com Thanks so much!!!!

5. There is currently an unprecedented freedom in this country to proclaim the truth. Pray that many will be called to take advantage of it while it last. There are signs that there are those who want to close the door, but it is not closing yet! Pray that this door of opportunity will be taken by many while it is still open!!!

Thanks for praying. May God bless you richly as you are blessing to the people of Tajikistan.

HT: Hope Tajikistan

Ramadan began on roughly October 5, and the people of Tajikistan are, to varied degrees, more religious during these days. They so desperately want to get rid of their sins that many of them are willing to go without food OR drink during the daylight hours. They are saying special prayers as you read this so that God will hear them. They have been taught that religious activities done during this month count for more in God's sight than at any other time of the year. Please pray that God will shine His light on them, and that those who truly seek Him will find Him during this time. Pray that the spiritual deception all around them will be wiped away!

Many around the world are choosing a week in October to pray and fast for the people of Tajikistan! Will you join their numbers by committing just one week to pray and fast? This is our final installment of the quarterly week of fasting and prayer for the people of Tajikistan. It is no accident that we timed it to fall during Ramadan. A big thanks to God for all of you who are taking this on seriously and diligently standing in the gap for the Tajiks. May you be blessed as your prayers bless the country of Tajikistan.

Pray for new efforts to begin storying the Good News among different people groups in Tajikistan. Some projects have already been completely to the glory of God. Others are just beginning and require the utmost of prayer.

Reports of miracles and great answers to prayer are coming out of Tajikistan. Please continue to praise God for his activity there! More people are being called out to pray, go, send, and teach. People in Tajikistan are seeing prayers answered when they pray in Jesus' name! These are exciting developments, not only for those who are physically there, but also for us! We are playing a role in this! Keep up the good work, keep your guard up against Satan, and don't let discouragement, complacency, busyness, or compromise keep you from praying!

We have lots of printed prayer guides left and we want to share them with you. Please check out the website at www.hopetajikistan.com for order forms or email HTPrayerGuides@hopetajikistan.com to order today. Be creative in using these for prayer groups, whole churches, associations of churches, etc. They are powerful prayer tools and we believe that God will use them not only to change the lives of people in Tajikistan, but also your lives!

Thanks again for praying!

TAJIKISTAN: Ramadan

1. Ramadan begins October 5th through November 3rd. Please keep in mind the peoples of Tajikistan who will fast during the daylight hours and pray special prayers hoping to earn God's favor and hoping to find salvation from their sins. Ask that God would reveal himself in dreams, visions, and powerful displays of His Spirit through His people during this religiously oppressive time. Much spiritual warfare occurs during these 30 days, so pray specifically that the stronghold of deception and false religion will fall in Tajikistan during this time, and Truth will be raised up!

2. Remember that October is also a chance to take a week and fast and pray for Tajikistan together with thousands of other Christians around the world. We are encouraging all those involved in interceding for Tajikistan to pick one week in October to pray and fast for more spiritual breakthroughs in the lives of the people. This is the 4th and final installment. We had such a week in January, one in April, one in July, and now the final one in October. It is no accident that this final fast lies during Ramadan. We want to take on the Enemy head-on.

3. We received a request from local believers to pray for those among them who have opportunities to excel at what they do and to give God the glory in it. Some use sports, others business, others use their academic abilities. Pray that all believers would use their God-given gifts for His Glory more and more in this small, but beautiful country.

4. Pray for those who have been rejected by their large family networks for the sake of Christ. Ask God to put them in "families" so they can survive and will be able to give Glory to Him as a result.

5. Pray for new believers and new churches to be raised up that will use culturally appropriate training models. This is vitally important to the emerging church. Lift for several efforts coming up that will address this issue.

HT: Hope Tajikistan

1. Please pray for a new project we are trying to get launched - a full color wall calendar with pics from Tajikistan to spur on the prayers of those who have never seen Tajikistan in full color. You can do two things - 1) Pray that God will help get these done by October so we can get them out before the beginning of the year. 2) If you or your church or prayer group would like to pre-order some of the calendars, let us know by emailing HT@hopetajikistan.com This will allow us to make the ones we can use and not waste on printing extras. Don't delay, get in your pre-order this week!

2. For Local Tajik believers who are showing Jesus to their fellow Tajiks by serving them in practical, loving ways. Pray that they would not grow weary in the work (and they are working hard), but would remember to wait on (hope in ) the Lord for all things.

3. Pray against discouragement among all believers in Tajikistan. This is a major way that Satan disrupts the work (by creating feelings of discouragement in believers' hearts).

4. Pray for those working among prisoners to be empowered, anointed, and fruitful in their ministry.

5. Pray for those in Tajikistan who are trying to make sense of their own natural disasters. In the same way Americans are mourning Hurricane Katrina, almost every month in Tajikistan there are villagers mourning lost friends and family to earthquakes, mudslides, and/ or floods. We are not alone in this thing called human suffering, and we can use our own distresses to help us pray with more empathy for those around the world who are experiencing similar situations.

This week we are providing additional prayer requests that match with the printed prayer guide.

Week 35 - Aug 27 - Sept 2 asks us to pray for foreign Christians in Tajikistan.

1. Please pray that God will provide ways for these believers from around the world to have time for their families and have resources for their kids schooling.

2. Pray for marriages foreigners in Tajikistan to be strengthened and to provide great models for the new Tajik believers.

3. Pray for many new ideas and methods to better reach out to the Tajik people.

4. Intercede on behalf of those who have given up much to spend themselves helping God's Kingdom grow in Tajikistan.

5. Ask for these faithful workers to be able to learn language well, relate well with Tajiks, and adapt well to the culture, making them exponentially more effective in the work.

Thanks again for praying,
