Small steps in the right direction.

"Do good to all people, especially believer, because in this way you will reap a harvest if you just don't quit." Galatians 6:10

PRAISE
We are thankful for the long day a tentmaking family had with "Samantha" recently. She came to faith several months ago and has endured extensive rejection and persecution from her family. She however has chosen to stay in her home and continue to relate to her family "to feed Jesus to them" as she says. She is staying strong in her faith and is a great encouragement to other MBBs in her community of friends.

Petition:
The 15th Asian Games are being hosted by Qatar starting December 1, 2006 for 2 weeks. Pray for the interactions among believing volunteers/staff and the games participants particularly those from Muslim countries.

Pray for Taxi Drivers (that have been hired for this event) who will be the chauffeurs for a specific VIP during the games. We are asking God to bring Christians into these positions. Pray for fruitful one-on-one interaction with the most influential people coming to the games.

Pray for Christian businessmen who have mentoring relationships with National Arab businessmen in our developing country. The local men admire the skill and knowledge of the Christian businessmen; pray for
opportunities to share the message of the gospel in context to these men.

Pray for the young MBB woman from a neighboring country that is looking for work. She is getting discouraged, but still looking to God for her provision. Pray for the young couple that is providing her accommodation and love.

Pray for "M" an expatriate Arab Muslim living in our fast growing, cosmopolitan city. He has had many discussions with several tentmakers and is wrestling with the person of Jesus and the Truth He presents. Pray for the work of the Holy Spirit in his life.

TESTIMONY:
Salem was raised in the most conservative country in the Arabian Peninsula. He was a faithful follower of Islam until his late teens. He was given a book that compared the teachings of the Qu'ran and the Bible. He found that there was great truth in the Bible passages in the booklet. He suddenly realized that the wonderfully friendly Subcontinent man who worked in the grocery store near his home was a Christian - he was different. So he asked him the next day "Are you a Christian?" The Indian man said yes and began to encourage Salem to read his Bible passages. Eventually, this Indian man gave Salem a complete Arabic New Testament. Salem couldnt read it fast enough. He read it over and over and over and the more he read, the more he believed in Jesus.

Eventually his family found out about his faith and forced him to go to Mecca to perform the Hajj. He hated every minute of his time there and proclaimed to his family even more about his faith in Jesus. He was forced to leave the country because he refused gifts of money, gold, fast cars and friends in lieu of following the truth Jesus.

He now lives in another Arab country where he has been cared for by a group of Arab believing families. He has a vision to reach his home country and to share firstly with his father. Pray for a breakthrough with his father.

The Saga Continues

"This is the account of Noah. Noah was a righteous man. ..." Genesis 6:9ff (NIV)

PRAISE:
We are praising the Lord for the offer to help a young believer find a job and get a legal visa. There are many uncertainties, but we are thankful that the Lord has opened the door so far.

PETITION:
Pray for spiritual hunger and protection for all of the Muslim background believers during Ramadan.

Pray for new tentmaker workers in the country. Pray for God's help and sustaining grace when so many things are new and they are making many decisions about lifestyle, language learning and ministry. Pray for God's anointing and power to be present in their lives. Pray for their children, too, that they would adjust well and feel positive about coming to live here.

For continued prayer for the workers here that we will seek to stay within God’s will in this dry barren land.

That what we have, is more precious than any amount of laws and works, it is God’s gift to us and we want to be able to share that with our local friends and neighbours
during this next month.

Continue to pray for the Believer who is still in jail. Pray that his physical needs are being provided for and that the Lord's presence is very evident to him.

TESTIMONY:
For every year of his life previous to this one, Baraka looked to the legal requirements of Ramadan to cleanse him and guarantee him forgiveness. Now, with new life in Issa al Messih, Baraka fasts with a different intention – that of drawing near to God. Muslims hear the Qur’an recited in the mosques every evening during Ramadan, but Baraka wanted to try something different. “Brendan, do you think maybe we could read together this month? Instead of the Qur’an, I’d like to look at all the stories of the prophets.” What an awesome request from a young man with such a zeal for God’s word! We’ve read through Adam and Noah so far, looking at how these prophets are just like us and how God’s promise of the Messiah runs through them both. Baraka is loving these stories, and so am I.

Persevering in the Harvest

“This calls for the patient endurance of the saints.” - Revelation.

PRAISE:
Praise the Lord for the keen interest expressed recently by fellowships in South Africa, Pakistan and South America. The workers in the Arabian Peninsula are so encouraged by the faithful prayer support poured out world-wide for the AP.

PRAY:
Pray for the many young, National, Muslim ladies who have heard the Gospel from a single female tentmaker over the past 5 years. This tentmaker is returning to her home country. Pray that the relationships are able to be transferred over to another tentmaking woman to continue the gospel story in their lives.

Pray for the visa and work situation for an MBB living in our country. He is such a faithful servant and regularly reaches out in love to the Muslim in the community.

Pray for the expatriate church in our capital city. There is much conflict between the elders, the pastor and the members. Pray that this disgrace to God’s name would stop. Pray that the Muslims in the community would know that this behavior is not advocated in the Bible.

Pray for the young National Muslim woman who is struggling in her marriage and her work situation. She is hungry for a peace that truly satisfies. Pray that she would be able to relate to a Christian woman to share the good news with her.

Please continue to pray for the tentmaker family who are hoping to move here. Pray for one of the jobs he has applied for to come forth with a job offer / contract so that this family can come and serve God here in this country. There are other, too, hoping to serve God here - pray for job contracts to be forthcoming. Without a job, people cannot get residency in the country.

Pray for the tentmaker family that is in a major transition for work. They are closing the business that has allowed them to serve in their country. This is raising a temptation to be anxious and to look to themselves for a solution and not trust on God’s provision. Pray also for their young son who has an eye disorder that can be corrected over time with specific therapy. Pray that his eye would be healed and that God would get the glory.

TESTIMONY:
As the Lord has been at work in the Arabian Peninsula, where most Arabians live, He has also recently opened the doors for more Arabians to again study abroad, particularly in the USA. They are learning English & other skills in universities. Because the Lord puts people where they can reach out for Him, He has already prepared some laborers in these universities to minister to them.

We have heard of a number of instances where, for example, single or married women who may not have been able to minister to Muslims in their homeland as freely, are find friends who are interested, not only in English, but also in the Book through which God speaks in any language. Thank the Lord with us for those who have expressed interest in receiving the Word & for those who are taking the initiative to reach out in love, while praying for more.

ASM: Morocco

Arise Shine Morocco
Prayer Bulletin #64 (02/06)
Asm@ariseshinemorocco.org
www.ariseshinemorocco.org

From a key worker:
Threats on the King
“There is a fundamentalist Muslim group named "al adel wa l ihssan" led by Sheikh Abdessalam Yassin. This group proclaimed that they have seen a vision from God and the prophet Mohammed telling them that they will take over the country in 2006. They are expecting the assassination of the king. Please pray for Morocco and this issue. Pray that the plans of this group will fail. Pray that God’s peace will keep this country from the enemy's plan. Pray that the Lord will protect the king's life and bless him in the name of Jesus.”

NORTHCENTRAL REGION:
Pray for answers to prayer for healing for nationals so the Lord will be glorified and Christian faith and witness is seen to be accompanied by power. Pray for favor in the eyes of local authorities as workers set up businesses and seek residency. Pray for a project now forming that will likely save lives and will minister to some of the most vulnerable and hurting people in Moroccan society.

WESTERN COASTAL REGION:
Praise God for phenomenally rapid growth in a church ministering to expatriates including many African mmigrants and students in this large city. Praise Him for the many who are studying God’s Word through the ministry of this church. Ask God to raise up more teachers and leaders to meet the growing needs.

CENTRAL REGION:
Praise the Lord, the final draft of “God's Story” audio project is completed. In the next step, recordings are matched with film images and a draft master VCD is created. Then workers will re-check it, make any necessary changes, and record a final master before it will be ready for duplication. Pray !!

Pray for wisdom regarding possible distribution of Berber Gospel materials to Berbers traveling through European locations. Praise the Lord for improving Berber language-learning materials and growing numbers of workers studying the local Berber language.

Ask for leading and guidance for a family planning to move into the region. Pray for others seeking where to locate as well as those in the process of setting up residency platforms, getting papers, housing, language helpers, etceteras.

Continue to pray for a group of believers that stopped meeting for worship due to relationship tensions. With so few groups, when one fails it is discouraging. Pray for isolated believers, some isolated by distance and others, as they do not understand their need for fellowship. Pray for wisdom for the workers in contact with them. Pray for provision of good employment for all believers seeking it.

Ask the Lord to strengthen faith in the face of personal trials and difficulty. Worker families have recently experienced such things as a car accident, death in the family, and extended periods of separation, sickness, and theft.

SOUTHCENTRAL REGION:
Lighthouse Church:
Pray as church members travel to another city to encourage members of a new house church. Pray for strong, growing relationships between national churches.

Ask the Lord to bring new disciples to the Lighthouse church. Pray for one young woman to return to the faith and to the church. Pray the children will enjoy the newly begun Sunday School program and that it will help them grow in their faith.

SOUTHWESTERN REGION:
Praise God that He is sending more workers to the Berbers of this region.

Recently workers and local believers have suffered various health problems that have hindered the work. As the growing gospel witness poses a greater threat to the kingdom of darkness, attacks from the devil have increased. Pray for protection of believers and join them in prayer for piercing the darkness that blinds their unbelieving Arab and Berber friends. Pray for freedom from fear for national believers to come together to worship and study God's Word.

Pray for long-term workers as they venture into new “fields” to sow Gospel seed. Pray too for a fresh harvest from fields they have cultivated and sown for years.

FAR SOUTH:
Praise and thank the Lord for continued fruit bearing. Pray for the new believers and the new church that is forming. Pray for protection and wisdom for workers. Thank the Lord for the wonderful rains that have filled the local reservoirs in this desert region.
