At work, we are configuring sendmail to feed TrendMicro's Virus Wall which will scan the mail and then hand off to a second sendmail to feed the mail to exchange. We've been using Osirusoft's DNSbl to block spam and wanted to continue to use it, but also wanted to test how it compares with the spam filtering that Trend sells as an eManager plugin.

I had to learn more about sendmail as a result in order to configure it to add a header ("X-RBL-Warning") whenever sendmail would have blocked the mail.

For future reference, and to possibly help others, here's how to add the X-RBL-Warning header to email with sendmail 8.12 .

I love this quote from David Rogers, in his piece on "victims": Work with what you have to maximize your own power (which ends at your skin) in your life.

Which coincides nicely with a conversation I had with Mert this past weekend during the six hour drive up to El Dorado. He mentioned that Nationalism is a form of selfishness, but with "self" extended to nation and making the "other" any nationality but your own.

But, in reality, self ends where your power ends -- your skin. And, often, we want to extend self into the past and the future, but we only end up frustrated and anxious. Christ warned us against piling up more worries than necessary.

So, the clue to being content wherever you are is to understand that you have power only over yourself and the only time you can exercise your power is now. Once you understand that and begin to practice it, it is easier to exercise Love.
