Just so I can get more people coming to my site, I need to get an RSS feed going for this blog. That, and it would let me play with some cool toys.

So I bought a server. Now, I "need" a laptop. I'd love to get a TiBook but I really can't justify spending that much money for little more than just flash.

Maybe a good used machine...

Making a living from blogging. These "making money on the Internet" pieces continue to be almost exclusivly about "monetizing" content. That is, slapping ads on otherwise interesting reading — intentionally distracting the reader. As far as I'm concerned, the only advertising I'm willing to put up with is intensely personal, and I don't mean "personalized". Intensely personal advertising is Dave Winer or Doc Searls. I'm interested in many products these guys mention because they are interested in them, and, usually, they have a personal stake in the product. Doc flogs his book and Dave flogs Radio and people buy because Doc and Dave care about what they sell.

David McCusker is right. This recipe for a wireless Linux gateway is horrendous. I'm thinking that almost all but four steps could be omitted.

This article is overly generic. Most people will probably have an adequate kernel and won't need to worry about all that kernel tuning. A more specific piece is needed desperately

mod_perl ISPs. Great info. I've been toying with the idea of proxying requests for users. I'm wondering if there is a way to restrict user access to ports above 1024.
